How We Met

Alexandra & Brian

Brian and Alex met on July 30, 2014. Alex was staffing a commercial shoot for PMK*BNC at Red Bull Arena, where Brian at the time was with the New York Red Bulls. Brian saw Alex running around the field trying to “get the people going” for the ad, so he decided to go and introduce himself to see if she needed any help. They chatted and traded business cards but didn’t cross paths until November of 2014, when Brian himself joined PMK*BNC (completely by chance) as Alex’s newest Amex and Pepsi team member.

Along with their passion for their work, Brian and Alex quickly found they had many things in common including a love of watching sports (Go Giants), going to concerts, traveling to new places and checking out the latest and greatest in the dining and cocktail scene. They also learned to appreciate each others’ passions. Brian went from the magic carpet to skiing double blues with Alex in Telluride. A long time Manhattanite, Alex went from never venturing into Brooklyn to loving Brian’s favorite borough. Their relationship has taken them around the country (Seattle, New Orleans, Newport, Napa Valley, etc… ) and around the world (Costa Rica, Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, etc…) and has been filled with fun adventures both big and small.

On the way to another adventure – this time, a weekend getaway in Upstate New York – knowing her love of parks, flowers and the outdoors, Brian proposed to Alex on November 17, 2017 at the New York Botanical Garden’s conservatory. Luckily for Brian, Alex said yes.

Charleston

Consistently named the top city to visit in the United States, Charleston combines Lowcountry charm with a booming cultural and culinary scene. We love coming to Charleston and if you have an extra day or two, we highly recommend checking it out. Here are some recommendations on some of our favorite things to do:

Carriage Tour: If it’s your first time, a carriage tour is a good way to get acclimated to the city, learn about the area’s history and check out some of the amazing Southern architecture.

Boat Tour: Prefer going by sea? Then make sure you take a harbor tour. It is a unique way to take in the city and have a cocktail or two while you’re at it!

Food: Charleston is one of the best food towns in the USA and it is only getting better. From longtime standouts Hominy Grill and Magnolia’s to a range of newcomers, there is truly something for everyone. Ask us for any recommendations and if you love seafood and key lime pie, you have to go to 167 Raw.

Drink: If you like a good drink like we do then Charleston is the place for you. There are a so many options but we recommend getting a rooftop drink at Stars or atop the Vendue Hotel. There is also a rapidly growing local brewery scene that was recently featured in the New York Times which is definitely worth checking out! Eater has a good rundown of bars and breweries to visit.

Charleston has many accommodation options. You can also use Uber to get around, though keep in mind that there is no Uber in Kiawah. Parking is fairly inexpensive.
